How to Choose the Right Polyurethane Round Belt

When selecting a polyurethane round belt for your application, consider the following key factors:

1. Diameter

Choose the appropriate belt diameter (commonly from 2 mm to 20 mm) based on the load, pulley size, and space constraints. Larger diameters support heavier loads but require more space.

2. Hardness (Shore A)

  • Soft (70A–80A): More flexible, suitable for lightweight conveying and small pulleys

  • Medium (85A–90A): Balanced performance for most general applications

  • Hard (95A–98A): High strength, suitable for heavy-duty or high-tension systems

3. Surface Type

  • Smooth surface: Ideal for clean environments and simple conveying

  • Rough/textured surface: Provides better grip on rollers or products

4. Reinforced vs. Non-Reinforced

  • Reinforced belts (with polyester or steel cords) offer higher tensile strength and low stretch for synchronized systems

  • Non-reinforced belts are more flexible and easier to join or weld on-site

5. Operating Conditions

Consider temperature range, exposure to chemicals, oils, or moisture. TPU belts generally operate well between -30°C to +80°C and offer good chemical resistance.
